Bridgend County Borough Council - Glyn Cynffig Residential Home

EndoTherm Energy Saving Case Study
Bridgend, United Kingdom

The performance of EndoTherm was piloted by Bridgend County Borough Council in 2 buildings including Glyn Cynffig Residential Home in Bridgend.

Social care and rehabilitation residential homes often accommodate individuals with specific health conditions or mobility limitations. These individuals may require a higher ambient temperature for their comfort and well-being. The increased heat demand makes it challenging to significantly reduce space heating energy consumption without compromising residents health and safety. This pilot showed Bridgend County Borough Council that EndoTherm can make a difference to their space heating energy consumption.

The residential care home, which provides social care and a rehabilitation service for up to 16 people, is heated by 2 x 120kW boilers via steel panel radiators. EndoTherm was installed in August 2018.

During the short 4-month pilot using EndoTherm, Glyn Cynffig Residential Home saved 2,070Kg of CO₂e. This carbon reduction is equivalent to:
