Rotherham NHS Foundation Trust - The Oakwood Centre

EndoTherm Energy Saving Case Study
South Yorkshire, United Kingdom

The performance of EndoTherm was piloted by The Rotherham NHS Foundation Trust at The Oakwood Centre.

The Oakwood Centre is a dedicated, stand-alone unit located in the grounds of Rotherham Hospital. With 16 single occupancy rooms, the centre has a 300kW boiler system (half-loaded) with 70 radiators.

Installation of EndoTherm took place in November 2013.

The Oakwood Centre, focusing on rehab medicine, has unique requirements for temperature control and comfort. Patient well-being, recovery, and therapy sessions  necessitate specific temperature levels. Balancing energy efficiency with the specific needs of patients and healthcare professionals can be challenging.

EndoTherm provides a reduction in space heating energy consumption while allowing the facility to continue to provide a comfortable environment that promotes patient recovery and well-being.

In just under a 2-year period using EndoTherm, The Oakwood Centre and Rotherham NHS Foundation Trust saved 20,862Kg of CO₂e. This carbon reduction is equivalent to:

“EndoTherm has been active in the heating systems of two of our smaller properties for approx 2 years. The gas savings realised have been in the order of 10-13.5%. The results are there to be seen.

When circumstances allow, this product will also be installed into the main site heating system. Everyone connected with the company has been friendly, professional and helpful at all times and a pleasure to deal with.”
